Big Jubilee Lunch
Great Chart with Singleton Parish Council will be hosting a Big Jubilee Lunch on Saturday 18th June 2022. We will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, The Big Lunch and the Month of Community all in one big event! We have a Facebook Event where regular updates and reminders are posted Facebook Event
We will be on Great Chart Playing Fields between 11am and 14:30pm and we are really looking forward to seeing you there. The What3Words location of the Buxford Pavilion, situated on the playing fields is desk.grew.proof and we encourage as many people as possible to walk or cycle to the event via the pedestrian entrances as we only have limited car parking space.
Our list of stallholders is growing daily, so far we have;
- A free bouncy castle and soft play area, along with a handful of visiting mascots will be provided by Candytan Events
- Whizzbang Facepainting will be available for a small donation between 12 and 2pm
- An Arts & Crafts tent will be run by Emergency Exit Arts where you can make Jubilee themed crafts, or help decorate a crown for Flora the Singleton Giant
- As the venue is a football playing fields, there will be some footballs out to have a kick around with
- Godmersham Grills will be selling burgers, chips and drinks
- Wayne's Whippys will be selling ice cream and cold drinks
- LE's Treats will be selling donuts and hot drinks
- Fizzy Flamingo will be selling a selection of alcoholic drinks on tap and in bottles
- Flora the Singleton Giant will be walking around the field, having her photo taken, and waiting patiently for her new crown (due to be fitted around 2:20pm)
- Singleton Environment Centre will be showcasing the work they do, with a nature hunt around the field, activities for the children and selling some of the items created by the Knit and Knatter team
- The Repair Cafe will be showcasing the amazing repair and restoration work they do, as well as selling some of their creations
- The Great Chart and Godinton and the Singleton WI ladies will be manning the lost children/lost property/first aid area, whilst also selling some delicious cream teas.
- Ashford Borough Council will have a stall with lots of useful information and ideas on recycling and reducing waste
- Sing and Sign will have information on the groups they run in the area, along with the chance to have a go at a mini sing and sign session
- Ashford Baby Memorial Garden will be there with their smiley face tombola and information stall
- Avon will be represented by Claire Thomas
- 2 of a Kind will be selling their increasing range of resin crafts
- Dandelion Moon will be selling some of her fabric creations and accessories
- Explore Learning will be there promoting the love for learning
- Usbourne Books will be selling irresistible books for kids
- Vision Signing Choir will be signing along to some popular music
- And Ashford Concert Band will perform two half hour sets during the event
We are not limited on space, so if you are a local community group or organisation who would be interested in running a stall or volunteering on the day in return for fundraising opportunities, or if you are a local business owner who is interested in having a stall, please email paula.cowperthwaite@greatchartsingleton-pc.gov.uk for more information.
