Budget 2024-25

Published: 14 December 2023

Following the recent resident survey and meetings of the relevant committees, the Parish Council has approved its budget and submitted the precept (local tax) request to Ashford Borough Council for collection.

What does this mean for you?

If you live in a Band D property, the Parish Council tax element of the tax you pay will increase annually from £118.22 to £130 or £2.27 per week to £2.50.

What does the increase cover?

The Parish Council has allocated £20k to support local groups and clubs through grant funding. These grants make a huge difference to the local clubs, and helps them to continue what they offer. The grants also help to support the Warm Room in Lily’s Social Kitchen.

The Parish Council is keen to do more for the environment and has allocated £3.5k for environmental projects in the parish.

This year, the Parish Council also included £25K for capital purchases to allow the council to increase the provision of seating areas in play parks and improve the local facilities.

The Parish Council strives to provide excellent services for its residents and ensures they are value for money. The Parish Council continues to look at different ways to support the community and to benefit the residents. A detailed breakdown of proposed spending will be available in our newsletter due out in January.
